Aurora's Copley Theatre hosts 'Monologues'

Girl talk

Paramount Theatre presents a remount of the production of “The Vagina Monologues” that ran last year at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre. Comprised of a series of monologues examining women's views on sex, their bodies, relationships and violence against women, the adults-only show grew out of playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with scores of women and contains adult themes and language.

Performances begin Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Copley Theatre, 8 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora. (630) 896-6666 or paramountaurora.com.

Short play showcase

Arlington Heights playwright Keith Huff (“A Steady Rain”) is among the writers featured in Collaboraction's “Sketchbook Reverb,” a showcase of the best plays from the last 10 years of the company's Sketchbook Festival. Among the plays in the festival is Huff's “The Deep Blue Sea” about marine biologists who suffer a serious equipment malfunction and Lisa Dillman's “My Yeti Dreams” about a woman who takes a homeless man under her wing.

Performances begin Thursday, Feb. 10, and run Thursday to Sunday through March 27, at the Flat Iron Arts Building, 1579 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago. (312) 226-9633 or collaboraction.org.

Beatles tribute

“Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles” returns to Chicago for a brief run courtesy of Broadway in Chicago. “Rain” is a multimedia tribute concert featuring musicians who look and sound like the Fab Four.

Performances begin Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre, 24 W. Randolph St., Chicago. (800) 775-2000 or broadwayinchicago.com.
