Former Rock Star and Addict Stephen Thorpe Shares his Story at COD April 24
Former rock star Stephen Thorpe will share his story of fame and fortune, drugs and (near) death, at a free lecture on Wednesday, April 24, at 9 a.m. in the Health and Science Center, Room 1234, at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.
During this free lecture, Thorpe will discuss his rise to rock stardom, culminating in a performance at Madison Square Garden and six gold records, followed by his subsequent descent into years of alcohol and drug abuse.
Sober since a trip to the emergency room three years ago where he was pronounced clinically dead, Thorpe shares his vivid life story as an inspiration to others. Now 64, he is currently enrolled in substance abuse counseling classes at College of DuPage and is starting a non-profit organization specifically for musicians who are substance abusers.
This event is free and open to the public.
