Striking Out Hunger: See White Sox, benefit Aurora food pantry

Aurora Area Retired Teachers Association will host Strike Out Hunger, a bus trip to the Chicago White Sox game on Sunday, July 30.

The charter-bus outing will benefit Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry in Aurora.

Dick Schindel, AARTA president, said the public is invited. A tailgate party is included. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass.

On July 30, an AARTA charter bus will go to the Sox vs. Cleveland Indians game at Guaranteed Rate Field.

A bus will leave at 10 a.m. from door 15 at East Aurora High School, 500 Tomcat Lane in Aurora.

Tickets are $75. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry in Aurora.

Deadline to make reservations is Tuesday, July 25. Call Schindel at (630) 921-1307 for reservations or more information.

Founded in 1958, Aurora-based AARTA is a nonprofit social-service group comprising 350 retirees from Fox Valley school districts.

Membership is open to retired teachers, administrators, support staff and spouses.

AARTA holds membership luncheon meetings at 11:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday of February, April, June, October, and December at Lincoln Inn in Batavia.
