Judson series features architect, designer March 18, 22

Architect Martin Felsen and designer Jason Bowman will each visit Judson University's School of Art, Design and Architecture in the next few days for the school's monthly Lecture and Exhibition series. Both events are free and open to the public.

Architect and educator Martin Felsen will be the featured speaker during the SoADA Lecture and Exhibit Series to be held will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 18.

Felsen is a co-founder of UrbanLab, a collaborative office based in Chicago practicing architecture and urbanism. He has served as the principal investigator for research projects funded by organizations such as the National Science Foundation and the American Institute of Architect's College of Fellows Latrobe Prize (2009). In addition, Felsen is an associate studio professor in the College of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Jason Bowman, information architect for Groupon, will be speaking in a SoADA Lecture and Exhibition Series Special Event at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, in room 301 of the Harm A. Weber Academic Center.

Bowman's work for Groupon focuses on the user experience design. Before joining Groupon last year, he spent 15 years working as a web designer and information architect with design firms such as Ogilvy and Mather, Razorfish, and VSA Partners. He was a partner and creative director with The Royal Order of Experience Design from 2003-2007. During his career he has organized and designed websites for Pantagonia, Fjallraven US, Sears, and Prana.

The SoADA Lecture Series brings experienced architects, artists and designers to Judson's campus each semester for the purpose of sharing and discussing issues of sustainability, visual engagement, and appreciation for the arts with the Judson community.
