Addison's Pyramid Club offers plenty of options

A massive space, Pyramid Club offers guests the chance to watch sports or play games. With so much to do, it's easy to go for dinner or drinks and stay all night.

Motif: The 19,000-square-foot bar includes six huge projection screens and 15 other TVs arranged so that you can always keep your eyes on the score. Walls are lined with beer posters and sports team logos. The carpeted floor gives way to wood beneath the elevated bar area, where you can grab a table and choose tunes from an electronic jukebox. Couches in the corner make for a relaxing place for groups to chat. Pyramid Club hosts a lot of parties, and there are several semi-private areas that can provide space for sizeable gatherings.

You can shoot some pool on a set of professional grade, well-maintained tables. The pool area is equipped with a long counter, where players can grab a stool and rest their drinks between turns. A secondary game area, with its own set of tables and huge TV, features four bags sets, ping pong and air hockey tables and three electronic dart boards. There's also a set of electronic games in the dining area including bowling, boxing and golf. More serious players can join the bar's pool and dart leagues.

Service: Our waitress was very attentive, coming around regularly and checking back soon after we received orders to see how we liked everything. When she was stumped for cocktail recommendations, she checked in with the bartender to help us out.

Liquid consumption: If you're watching your spending, the bar offers daily drink deals like $2.75 domestic drafts Saturdays and $5 Jagermeister bombs Fridays. The draft list includes Blue Moon and Leinenkugel and there are 26 brews available by the bottle. There's also a menu of quirky shots like the Irish Pirate, with Bacardi, dark rum and O'Mara's Irish Cream, along with an extensive selection of specialty cocktails. The Svedka cherry and lemonade was a refreshing, light sipper and the Bubble-07 tasted like fizzy bubblegum. The watermelon margarita was a little too salty, which overwhelmed the sweetness of the watermelon vodka that's added to the tequila and sour mix.

Food: The large menu offers standard bar food like nachos and potato skins along with plenty of pasta options like ravioli and lasagna. Pizza is a favorite, both for dining in and delivery. Selections include stuffed pizzas plus specialty pies like taco pizza topped with refried beans, ground beef, cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, black olives and onions. We were pleased with the aglio olio. The crispy thin crust pizza, cut into small bites, was light but flavorful, with strong tastes of garlic and basil beneath the mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

Music: The bar has a DJ booth that's typically only used when private parties are bringing in entertainment. There's also a corner stage for bands that periodically perform, though they're more irregular in the fall when sports take over.

Crowd: You can count on seeing a big crowd for sports games, and Ultimate Fighting Championship fans pack in for Saturday night bouts. The customer base skews older, drawing many local business people who also come in for lunch. When nothing's on TV, things tend to pick up around 9 p.m. in summer and a little earlier in winter.

Parking: There are plenty of free spots in the huge strip mall lot.

Overall: Pyramid Club provides a full night of entertainment under one roof.
