Variety of food offered at Swedish Days

There are 26 food booths available this year that offer American and Swedish style favorites. Some vendors have agreed to donate the money they make at the festival to charity.

Laura Rush, communications manager for the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, said restaurants have donated in the past but the commerce decided to recognized them by giving them a sign to put on their booth or restaurant to say which charity they are donating to. All the food comes from Geneva vendors.

The type of food varies from grilled burgers, hot dogs and brats to such special treats as funnel cake or ice cream. Several places will serve Swedish dishes such as Swedish meatballs, Swedish cardamom rolls or Swedish ham.

Swedish pancakes will also be available at the Geneva Lutheran Church from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 25, and from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday, June 26, at the Visit American Legion Post 75.

Booths will be throughout the Geneva area, predominately on Second and Third Street. A list of food vendors is available online.
