Free group fitness demos at Vernon Hills Y Feb. 25

Discover the time-saving advantages of two new two-in-one workouts being added to the spring schedule of group fitness classes at Central Lake YMCA by participating in free demonstrations on Saturday, Feb. 25. Piloxing and Yogalates combine two varied workouts into one session making it easier to fit an exercise routine into one's busy schedule.

Piloxing combines the calmness and flexibility of Pilates with the power and speed of boxing. Yogalates is an upbeat class that combines the slow, controlled breathing and stretching of yoga with the core tightening and stretching of Pilates.

Members of the Y and the community alike can choose to participate in one or both of the free demonstrations. They should wear comfortable workout clothes; shoes are optional. Piloxing takes place from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by Yogalates from 11 to 11:45 a.m. These are the times both classes will be held on Saturday mornings during Central Lake YMCA's spring sessions (Feb. 27- April 15 and April 16 – June 3). The cost is $20 for members of the Y and $40 for community members for each of the spring sessions.

While advance registration is not required to participate in the free demonstrations on Feb. 25, it is encouraged. This can be done by visiting the Welcome Center at Central Lake YMCA, 700 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills, or calling (847) 367-6797.
