Crespo starts Coffee Shop Stop Tour

To encourage constituents to get involved in the legislative process this year, state Rep. Fred Crespo (D-Hoffman Estates) will begin a tour of local coffee shops in the 44th district, with the first stop at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14 at the Starbucks on 181 N. Barrington Road in Schaumburg.

“We have tough decisions ahead in the legislature, and it is my priority to be accessible to the residents of this district so that I can hear their perspectives on important state and local issues,” Crespo said. “I encourage residents to stop by to share their ideas about the legislative needs of our district.”

Crespo's first Coffee Shop Stop will be Jan. 14 at the Starbucks located at 181 N. Barrington Road in Schaumburg from 9 to 11 a.m. Crespo will be available at the Coffee Shop Stop to answer any questions about new laws taking effect in January, as well as proposals for new legislation.

“I enjoy talking with people to hear their ideas for how we can improve our economy and create jobs,” Crespo stated. “Coffee shop stops allow me to go to where people naturally congregate to talk informally about legislation. It is a great way to get a feel for what people think about an idea, or brainstorm new ideas that could help our state and community.”
