The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting for Gong cha, 1295 East Ogden Avenue, Naperville on Oct. 6.Mayor Steve Chirico thanked John Malesh, the Director of Operations, for bringing Gong cha to Naperville to create jobs that benefit the community as a whole. Kaylin Risvold, the President and CEO of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, said that she noticed right away that John and his team were giving back to the community.

D1 Training the opening of a new fitness training facility in in Bloomingdale with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. They have a great facility with success stories already building since opening in the spring. Diveheart held a ribbon cutting to celebrate its grand opening of its new outreach center in Downers Grove. The center is located at 5147 Main Street in Downers Grove. Since 2001, Diveheart's mission is to build confidence, independence and self-esteem in the lives of children, adults and veterans with disabilities through scuba diving, scuba therapy and related activities. Diveheart Executive Director Tinamarie Hernandez is holding the scissors and Diveheart Founder Jim Elliott - far right - is holding the ribbon.

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce celebrated Batavia Chamber member Start Something Studio with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 12. Owners Jamie Saam and Lisa Koivu designed the space at 12 S. Van Buren Street in Batavia to be a supportive environment for current entrepreneurs and those with no more than an idea to thrive and grow. Batavia Mayor Jeffery Schielke presided over the celebration, along with the owners and their families. Among the large group of well-wishers were Batavia Chamber President and CEO Margaret Perreault and Shirley Mott, chamber communications and membership coordinator. Also present were Lori Botterman, City of Batavia; Beth Walker, Kristen Desler and Kathy Kuchta of Batavia MainStreet; chamber ambassadors, fellow business owners, and many friends and family.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for The Reserve of Geneva, 2508 Kaneville Road, Geneva on Oct. 13 celebrating their recent renovations and new management. Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns and Jeff Amann, COO & President of Certus Living, held the ribbon while The Reserve of Geneva Executive Director Angela Kotschi cut the ribbon surrounded by staff, residents, chamber staff and ambassadors.
