Explore the creek and the garden with Gail Borden Library series
Learn about the local watersheds and their importance, then get ready for spring with Gail Borden Public Library’s garden series.
The programs take place in person at the Main Library, 270 N. Grove Ave.; Rakow Branch, 2751 W. Bowes Road, or virtually.

‘Down to the Creek’ series
The virtual program will take place via Zoom from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays. It is presented in partnership with Wild Ones Greater Kane County.
On Feb. 20, the topic will be "My Watershed: Where Does It Flow?” Find out where the water from your land goes. See why the decisions about what you do on your land are important far beyond your own yard. Celebrate the uniqueness and importance of the Fox River.
‘In the Garden’ series
• Master Gardeners from the University of Illinois Extension will give participants tips on starting vegetable gardens indoors. The “Seed Starting” program will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, in the Rakow Branch Shales Living Room.
• Join fellow garden enthusiasts to discuss gardening passions in a “Garden Chat” discussion group from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Rakow Branch.
• Join fellow volunteers to discuss upcoming garden maintenance with “Rakow Garden Volunteers” from 10 to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22. Register to receive a Zoom link for this virtual program.
