Huntley Area Public Library has whole new look thanks to businesses

The red Huntley Area Public Library van, which was donated by an anonymous patron, may look different the next time you see it. Through the generosity of local businesses, the van is getting a little TLC.

Huntley Collision Center owners Lora and Scott Ball have donated some bodywork and a complete paint job. The van will now be the library trademark shade of green. Also, Fraser Auto Art owner, Kevin Swanson, has donated lettering on the van. And Coyote Auto Center owners, Jean and Joe Hernandez, will provide oil changes and routine inspections without charge.

"The generosity and outpouring of support from the local business owners has been wonderful, and we are truly grateful," said library director Virginia Maravilla. "Without each of their donations, this would not have been possible."

The van is used for collecting books from offsite book drops, running local errands, moving materials between offsite storage locations, homebound delivery and travel to continuing education seminars. Each of the companies will have their logo displayed on the back of the van in recognition and appreciation of their generosity.

The Huntley Area Public Library serves about 50,000 library district residents from Huntley, and portions of Lake in the Hills, Algonquin, Hampshire, and Coral, Grafton and Rutland townships.

If you do not have your Huntley Area Public Library card and live within the district, visit the library to learn what resources are available in your community.
