Antioch

•Thieves stole four 12-foot-long pier poles on an unknown date, but reported Aug. 22, that were stored next to a garage on the 41300 block of West Lake Avenue, the Lake County sheriff's office said. Value was estimated at $400.

Grayslake

•Burglars stole a GPS unit during the evening of Aug. 23 out of an unlocked 2005 Jeep Liberty parked in a driveway at a home on the 18600 block of Point Drive, the Lake County sheriff's office said. Value was estimated at $250.

Gurnee

•Thieves stole a table overnight Aug. 24-25 from the front patio at a home on the 7600 block of Cascade Way, police said. Value was estimated at $30.

•Julie R. Vargas, 17, 19 Laurel Trail, Wheeling, and a 15-year-old girl were arrested around 6 p.m. Aug. 25 and charged with retail theft after a security agent for JCPenney, 6100 Route 132, saw them take merchandise and leave without paying, police said. A court date was not available.

Ingleside

•Burglars stole two dress shirts, a ring, watch and personal hygiene items around 9 a.m. Aug. 25 out of a vehicle parked on the 25300 block of West Rockford Street, the Lake County sheriff's office said. Value was estimated at $130.

Lake Zurich

•Vandals smashed a mailbox overnight Aug. 23-24 at a home on the 1100 block of O'Malley Road, police said. Damage was estimated at $10.

Round Lake Beach

•Vandals wrote graffiti Aug. 22 on street signs at North Avenue and Heather Terrace, police said. A damage estimate was not available.

•Burglars smashed the front door glass and cut the inside alarm between Aug. 19 and 22 at a home on the 0-100 block of Lakeview Avenue, but nothing appeared to be missing, police said. A damage estimate was not available.

Vernon Hills

•Leon C. Hopson, 21, 24494 Norelius, Round Lake, was arrested Aug. 23 on the 500 block of Westmoreland Drive and charged with obstructing a peace officer after he gave an officer a false name, police said. His Waukegan court date was set for Sept. 8.

Wauconda

•Vandals sprayed graffiti Aug. 23 at Wauconda Grade School, 225 Osage St., Wauconda Middle School, 215 Slocum Lake Road, at 429 W. Liberty St., and at 208 S. Church St., and damaged property at 425 W. Liberty St., police said. Damage estimates were not available.
