New clubhouse, pool true amenities

This summer, Rolling Meadows-based Kimball Hill Homes celebrated the grand opening of a new 3,000-square-foot clubhouse and pool area at Whispering Meadows, a 344-home community in Yorkville.

The clubhouse, available to all Whispering Meadows residents, complements a community that features seven floor plans including ranch and two-story designs. Homes range from 1,632 to 3,052 square feet with three or four bedrooms, 2 or 2½ baths, partial basements and attached two-car garages. Base prices range from $230,990 to $273,990.

"Whispering Meadows is already a neighborhood with a well-formed sense of community, but having the on-site clubhouse will certainly further cement that bond among residents. It will be a central location for weekend birthday parties, evening social gatherings, neighborhood meetings and everyday recreation," said Jack Wexelberg, division president of Kimball Hill Homes.

Located near the intersection of Alice Avenue and Alan Dale Lane, the clubhouse at Whispering Meadows features a kitchen and common room with a plasma television and a two-sided fireplace; a fitness studio; men's and women's locker rooms; a sundeck, two pools, including a kiddie pool; and a beach volleyball court.

The kitchen area features a pass-through to the common area, which includes eating tables as well as couches for relaxing with neighbors or watching television.

"Functionally, the space makes sense for large gatherings," said Wexelberg. "There are designated areas for cooking, serving food, eating and socializing. Yet, none of these areas are closed off to one another, making it easy for residents to socialize."

Community members who wish to utilize the clubhouse's fitness facility can do so starting each day at 5 a.m. until close at 10 p.m. The facility, removed from the common area, includes stationary bicycles, elliptical machines and a multi-station universal weight-training machine.

"Whispering Meadows residents can forgo the hassle of owning a gym membership," Wexelberg said. "Plus, with the convenience of the workout facility on site, buyers can spend less time commuting to and from their health club, allowing them more precious free time for themselves."

While kids can burn off energy at the pool, they can also stay active at one of the community's various pocket playgrounds, including the train-themed tot park recently added by the Yorkville Park District.

The larger-than-average home sites at Whispering Meadows provide additional room for families to create their own backyard play area.

"Home sites at Whispering Meadows measure up to a quarter acre, about double the typical size at other developments in the Yorkville area," Wexelberg said. "Families will have plenty of yard space for a swing set for the kids. Plus, there is an abundance of room for a garden, or a large deck or patio for barbecues."

To visit Whispering Meadows and its three models, take I-88 to Route 56 toward Sugar Grove. Continue on Route 56 until you reach Route 47 and head south on Route 47. Turn right at Cannonball Trail. Turn right again on Alice Avenue (previously Faxon Road) and right onto Alan Dale Lane.

The sales center is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Sundays 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Mondays from noon until 6 p.m. For information, call (630) 553-1096, or visit www.kimballhillhomes.com.
