Briefs: Navistar to provide parts to Marines

WARRENVILLE -- Navistar International Corp. said Thursday it won a $71.5 million contract to provide parts support for the U.S. Marine Corps' International MaxxPro mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles. The contract builds on the more than $1 billion in contracts the Warrenville-based company has previously announced with the Marine Corps. The MaxxPro protects troops from roadside bombs and improvised explosive devices.

AirCell lands Virgin America

ITASCA -- Virgin America said it selected Itasca-based AirCell to enable it to offer air-to-ground broadband Internet service on flights by next year. Passengers will be able to access the Internet through their Wi-Fi enabled personal devices or through the Red Inflight Entertainment system at every seat, the British-based airline said. The airline is the first U.S. airline to commit to full-fleet broadband, the firm said.
