Movers and shakers

With more than 28 years of banking experience, Bruce Grabenkort joined Illinois State Bank, Lake in the Hills, as assistant vice president and relationship manager, business banking, responsible for expanding the bank's relationships with commercial and industrial customers in Northern Illinois. Grabenkort previously served as assistant vice president and relationship manger for Key Bank in Cleveland.

Attorney Christina Lopez has joined the management-side labor and employment law firm of Wessels & Pautsch P.C., with offices locally in St. Charles and Chicago. Lopez, who holds a juris doctor degree from Chicago Kent College of Law, previously served with the National Labor Relations Board's region 13 office in Chicago as a field examiner and field attorney.

Dental hygienist Donna Grzegorek was one of eight dental hygienists honored with the 2007 Healthy Gums Healthy Life/RDH Award of Distinction for achievements within the dental profession, dedication to public service and helping patients lead healthier lives. Grzegorek is a full-time dental hygienist with Dr. Gregory S. Tehle in Barrington; a speaker for the Academy of General Dentistry; chief operating officer of Innovative Dental Professionals with Dr. John Napolitano in Barrington; and a hygiene educator for two dental pharmaceutical companies.

Sharman A. Toomey, retail market manager and vice president at Amcore Bank, was promoted to regional retail sales manager to oversee the retail branches in the Northern Chicago suburban region. Toomey joined Amcore in 1979 as a personal banker in the Woodstock branch. She is a member of the Cary Grove Chamber of Commerce, the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Cary Grove Business Network Association.
