Unemployment offices closed for Veterans Day
The offices of the Illinois Department of Employment Security will be closed Friday in observance of Veterans Day. Offices will reopen on Monday at 8:30 a.m.
People will still be able to file for unemployment benefits Friday on the agency's website.
In addition to filing for first-time benefits, people will be able to certify for benefits and switch the method of payment to direct deposit.
But the agency warns that some benefit payments could be delayed because Friday is a bank holiday.
