Swell Gallery to host exhibit by outsider/folk artist Mystele Kirkeeng

Swell Gallery in West Dundee presents Outsider/folk artist Mystele Kirkeeng in her first solo exhibition. Mystele Kirkeeng is a self-taught, acrylic/mixed media outsider/folk artist living in Crystal Lake, by way of Texas. Her brightly colored paintings focus mainly on imaginary female subjects - many women of color - with wonder, hope, and encouragement as underlying themes.

Meet Mystele during the artist's reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 10, at the gallery, 123½ W. Main St. in West Dundee.

The exhibition continues for three weeks. Gallery hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays, March 11, 18 and 25. Private viewings also are available. Contact curator@swellgallery.com to inquire.
