Allied Air Conditioning &; Heating building renovation underway
PALATINE — The new year brings a milestone 50th anniversary for Palatine's Allied Air Conditioning & Heating Corp. and the first renovation project for its 500 E. Northwest Highway facility since the building was purchased in 1992.
The renovation will create more office space for Allied's staff and operations.
“This expansion will help us continue to grow our business and enhance our ability to serve customers in homes and businesses throughout the Chicago area,” said Kevin Budinger, who has run the family-owned and family-operated business since 2011. “With updated facilities and more space, the efficiency of our operations will increase.”
Renovation work began in November. The office expansion will give Allied staff an additional 1,000 square feet of space, as well as updated, more efficient HVAC and lighting systems.
Elgin-based Soltys Design Build was chosen to complete the work.
Allied was founded in Palatine in 1969 by Brent Bauer and Greg Budinger. Today, with facilities in Palatine and Libertyville, the business ranks in the top 2 percent of HVAC contractors nationwide in sales volume, according to a company news release.
Allied ownership purchased its current facility in 1992. Originally built in 1952, it was first a Nash Rambler dealer and then housed an automotive repair and service shop.
