Barrington resident named a top female wealth adviser

Barrington resident and wealth management adviser Robin Butler has been named to the prestigious 2022 Forbes America's Top Women Wealth Advisors list.

Butler serves as a senior vice president with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, helping lead Hickey Rogers Butler & Associates in Chicago. Since joining Merrill in 1982, Butler has cultivated a wealth management philosophy that involves understanding each client's goals and concerns, and helping them prepare for likely and unlikely circumstances.

A certified financial planner, Butler believes that exploratory discussions with clients are not a "one-time event" and that, as life unfolds, strategies must be adjusted accordingly.

When not spending time with family or traveling, Butler sits on the board of Pursue Scholars, a Chicago-based urban leadership development program that supports underprivileged students in pursuit of higher education. She also volunteers her time in several roles within her church as well as with Willow Creek Care Center, a community food pantry in the Barrington area.

Butler is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio.

Merrill holds the No. 1 position of all firms included on the Forbes America's Top Women Wealth Advisors list for 2022, with a total of 296 advisers recognized across the country. Advisers are evaluated on qualitative and quantitative criteria, including in-person interviews, industry experience, compliance records, revenue produced and assets under management.
