Former longtime CBRE executive Ralph Gilbertsen joins Government Investment Partners as Senior Vice President

DEER PARK - Longtime commercial real estate executive Ralph Gilbertsen has joined Government Investment Partners (GIP) as Senior Vice President of Operations following a distinguished 35-year career at brokerage giant CBRE.

In his new role, Gilbertsen, a resident of Barrington, will oversee the firm's property management business as well as overall corporate operations and strategic initiatives relating to investor relations and fundraising. GIP is a vertically integrated real estate investment, development and management firm specializing in commercial properties leased to federal, state and local government entities.

"Ralph brings a wealth of commercial real estate knowledge and experience to GIP at a time when we are continuing to grow our offering," said Kris Jankowski, GIP's founder and president. "We are especially excited about his ability to help us grow our property management business and, specifically, our third-party property management offering."

At CBRE, Gilbertsen was a member of that firm's Global Corporate Services group, which provided comprehensive real estate transaction management services to numerous multinational corporate clients. Prior to that, he also worked in property management and construction management.

Founded in 2016, GIP's portfolio of properties now totals more than 30 buildings in 18 states. The firm is based in Illinois and also has offices in Sacramento and Atlanta.
