Firefighter injured battling house fire in Hoffman Estates

A firefighter sustained minor injuries battling a house fire in Hoffman Estates Sunday afternoon that caused an estimated $400,000 in damage.

Firefighters were called to the one-story, single-family house on the 1700 block of Highland Boulevard just after 2:15 p.m.

Heavy smoke was showing from the garage, but the fire had extended into the house, officials said.
