Support Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois June 5 in Crystal Lake

On Saturday, June 5, several McHenry County Police agencies including the Algonquin, Crystal Lake, McHenry and Woodstock police departments and McHenry County Sheriff's Office will be participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

At this private event, officers and local Special Olympic athletes will be running and walking to raise funds and awareness on behalf of Special Olympics Illinois. This event will be taking place at Veteran Acres Park, starting at 8 a.m. and concluding at noon.

Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, multiple events were cancelled and services for Special Olympics athletes were hindered including cancellations of opportunities for athletes to practice and compete. They are happy to be getting back to having those opportunities and look forward to these fundraising and awareness raising events.

This event is private, however you may reach out to any of the above agencies to donate and support the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois.
