Get insights into college searches, applications and more with free Schaumburg Library programs

This spring, Schaumburg Township District Library is offering four informational programs to help students and their caregivers plan and prepare to attend college.

Presenters from Harper College will share information about their new partnerships with area universities, allowing students to earn their bachelor's degree at Harper. "Harper College Presents University Center" will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, at the Central Library.

High school students can come to the library to get tips on resume writing for college applications, scholarships and job applications. Students will also work on their own resume at the program. "Resume Writing for Teens: College, Careers and Beyond" will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, at the Central Library.

Quest College Consulting will speak with students and caregivers, shedding light on the college application process, including understanding a holistic application review, the impact of test scores and more. "What Looks Good on College Applications?"will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5. You can choose to attend this program in person at the Central Library or online on Zoom.

Recent college graduate Raquel Garcia of Illinois Student Assistance Commission will offer guidance, tips and important perspectives for teens as they consider the transition to college. "Headed to College?: A Conversation for Teens" will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the Central Library.
