Jazz fest coming to Schaumburg Prairie Center

Two Grammy winners will headline this Saturday’s Schaumburg Jazz Fest, held inside the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts.

Legendary guitar player Larry Carlton is a 19-time Grammy nominee and four-time Grammy winner in multiple music categories.

He will be joined by Grammy winning contemporary jazz guitarist Norman Brown to launch the first Schaumburg jazz festival.

The all-day jazz festival also includes international saxophonists Michael Lington and Paul “Shilts” Weimar, a founding member of the group Down to the Bone.

SmoothChicago.com producers have been holding major jazz concerts in Chicago for many years and are now expanding into Schaumburg.

It’s rare that suburban fans of contemporary jazz music have a chance to see these artists in their own backyard.

Tickets for the Larry Carlton evening show or the Norman Brown afternoon show are $59 each; an all-day ticket is $99.

Reserved seats are available online at SchaumburgJazz.com or by calling (312) 725-0740.
