MWRD selling rain barrels to Cook County residents

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago announced it is selling rain barrels to Cook County homeowners as part of an effort to collect and reuse stormwater. The barrels are available online for $58 plus tax. In a statement, MWRD Commissioner Debra Shore said the new program is a part of the water agency’s green infrastructure initiative and supports its mission of managing stormwater and reducing water pollution.
